Rules

Points live in one place: the All Year standings. Across the whole season, fish compete by species within your category, and the longest of each species wins points:

• 1st place - 3 points
• 2nd place - 2 points
• 3rd place - 1 point

Tied lengths are broken by the earlier submission timestamp - first in, best dressed.

Only your single longest fish of each species competes for a place - you can't fill the podium on your own. Catch as many as you like, but 1st, 2nd and 3rd always go to three different anglers.

Each habitat is its own championship too: points earned within Deep Sea, Estuary and Fresh Water decide the habitat champions in every category.

Big Fish is a bonus race on raw length: the three longest fish of the season in your category - any species - collect an extra 3 / 2 / 1 on the overall board. The Big Fish entry option is for species not on the club list; it posts a length for this race but earns no species points.

Your All Year total is the sum of points across every species you placed in, plus any Big Fish points. Habitat championship ties count back on placement quality (two firsts beat a first, a second and a third); any remaining tie goes to whoever entered a scoring fish first.

We run three All Year competitions (Mens / Womens / Juniors) plus a series of monthly event comps (specific dates, usually a target species).

At event comps, each target species is its own race, won by the longest fish (Monduran runs on total length instead). Two target species means two winners. Comps carry no points - All Year scores the same fish separately.

Every comp catch also joins the All Year race for your category - so the fish that wins the comp can earn All Year points too if it places among the season's best of its species.

Length is measured to the nearest 0.5cm in the new app - no “39cm to fork” free text. Round down if you're between ticks.

Every entry must have a brag-mat photo with the measurement clearly visible. Catches without a clear measurement won't be approved.

A trophy photo (you holding the fish) is optional but strongly encouraged - it's what shows on the public leaderboard.

Anglers fish in one of three categories: Men, Women, or Juniors. Family memberships cover the paying member's spouse and kids.

Tech-shy or younger anglers can have a catch submitted for them - any logged-in member can pick any angler from the dropdown when submitting. The submitter's email is recorded for the audit trail; points still go to the angler selected.

Admin reviews entries and may reject a catch that doesn't meet the rules (no clear measurement, wrong species, wrong category). The recycle-bin pattern means removed catches are recoverable for a while, in case of mistakes.
